Resin is a relatively modern material to be used for jewelry design. It is sometimes refered to as 'cold enamel' because it does not require kiln firing and may seem to resemble enamel. I, however prefer to recognize resin for it's unique properties in jewelry making. Resin is not glass or chrystal, it is an epoxy, and has a very modern appearance. It is light weight, available in a variety of colors, both opaque and translucent, and can be used to accomplish beautifully colored designs.
